About Us
How it started…
Our owner, producer, and manager C. Campos has always had a passion to help others. Their unwavering loyalty to their Marines has been the centerfold to this project. Having been called “Momma Campos” at the age of 22 for being the ”old” and unmarried Marine living in the barracks, this name developed into “Barracks Momma”.
The love and support our team has experienced over the years has been amazing. From an idea that started in the barracks of Yuma, Arizona (while serving with Mag-13 at MCAS Yuma) we have grown into what we are today. This would not be possible without the loyalty, love, and support from our “minions”, the junior Marines.
How we got our name…
While developing our brand we had researched different spellings of “Barracks Momma”, the only reference that came up was from an old Corps book (that we can no longer find the reference to, circa late 1800s or early 1900s). It read “…barracks moma, the person who wakes you up for your duty on firewatch”.
This fits our mission. We believe in being over watch to our junior Marines. Those bonds that we will remember forever, that we hold dearly close to our hearts, and that will never be taken in vain, we honor those Marines.
We have been the Marines who had to do things. We’ve had to chase down Marines who were late to duty, late to PT, and late to work. We’ve been the NCOs that had to give an asschewing even when we didn’t want to.
Our founder C. Campos would always take Marines to the smoke pit to talk, they saw it as a stress free environment and a place where most Marines let their guard down and were most open. As a group of mostly smoking alcoholics, they understood where the “safest place” was for those most at risk.
What we do and why we do it…
Our company is owned by three disabled United States Marine Corps veterans.
One is a father, one is his daughter, and one is a friend of the daughter who met on the USS ESSEX in 2017.
All of us are dependents of Marines, we’ve seen firsthand how transition and veteran status changes individuals. As prior active duty United States Marine Corps Veterans, we also understand life in the Corps. Our experience is East Coast, West Coast, on ship, and overseas in Japan.
We assist in the transition process, veterans affairs, other third party organization liaison, and adjustment to ”1stCivDiv”. We do it because we understand, we’ve been there. 🇺🇸 Semper Fi

Set up with Veterans Affairs
Once you decide to transition out of the military, THE FIRST THING YOU SHOULD DO IS SET UP YOUR INFORMATION WITH THE VETERANS AFFAIRS IN YOUR NEW RESIDENTIAL AREA. We can assist in this process.
Fighting with the VA
Free of charge
If you are having issues with the VA, we will assist in: editing your contact information, working with your care team, and most other things we are able to do.
Third Party assistance
Any donation helps our company grow and assist more veterans.
We will send you a list of third party organizations who do similar work to what we do. Feel free to utilize any and all assistance needed, we understand how the VA is. It is slow, frustrating, and tiring; it is also government funded, over worked, and underpaid group of individuals (mostly veterans) trying to make a difference the best way they can. Be patient with your local VA.

We are looking to develop squads in different parts of the country, of veterans who look out for one another. Instead of calling the VA hotline, reaching out to the boys from way back when, or being left alone to our own thoughts, we are looking to make teams that will just show up and be there for one another in dark times. Our suicide rates are too high, our demons too strong, minds too tired…
